Website or landing page: which one does your business need

You have to choose between a full website and a landing page. Everyone has an opinion. Almost nobody explains when to use each one. Let's fix that.

What a website is and what it's for

A full website is your permanent digital headquarters. It has a home page, services, about, blog, contact. It's where your brand lives, where Google indexes you, where a client can get to know you in depth before deciding.

A well-built site works for you 24 hours a day, ranks on Google, builds brand authority and turns visits into enquiries continuously.

As we explain in our article on SEO, without an optimised site there's no real organic ranking.

What a landing page is and what it's for

A landing page is a page designed with a single goal: converting. No menu, no distractions, no multiple calls to action. Just one value proposition and one button.

The key difference: a website educates and converts over the long term. A landing converts now or it doesn't convert.

When you need a website

  • When you're building a long-term brand.
  • When you want to rank on Google with organic SEO.
  • When you have several services or products.
  • When you need your client to get to know you before contacting you.

When you need a landing page

  • When you're launching a specific ad campaign.
  • When you have a time-limited offer.
  • When you want to test a new product before investing in a full site.
  • When you need to capture leads for one specific, high-converting service.

The answer nobody gives you: you need both

A website with no landing pages is an incomplete strategy. A landing page with no website is a fragile one. The model that works: a full site as your permanent base + specific landing pages for each campaign.

In web design we build full sites with up to three landing pages included from day one.
